The Bible was the book of the Holy Church. Lord Asriel's bible was a big, black book and contained the first words about Dust, which fell when Adam and Eve ate the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden, towards the end of the Third Chapter of Genesis which is why the particles are known as Dust.[1] Malcolm Polstead said that the letter he found inside the acorn was written on thin India paper, like the paper bibles were printed on.[2]
