The Ottoman Empire was an empire in Lyra's world.[1] A map of The Levant and the Ottoman Empire was featured on the Globetrotter list of maps. Anthony Hassall was given a pass allowing him to travel all over this empire and gain assistance and protection if needed. The countries of Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt and Libya were all part of the Ottoman Empire.[2]
